Meet Matt Foley
Founder & CEO
Matt Foley is a retired FBI Special Agent with 21 years of experience in Counterintelligence, Counterterrorism, Cyber, Insider Threat, and National Security. He served in multiple FBI Field Offices and as a Supervisory Special Agent at FBI Headquarters.
From 2016-2018, Mr. Foley served as an FBI Headquarters Program Manager for counterproliferation investigations across all 56 Field Offices. He provided briefings to senior executives within the U.S. Intelligence Community and established joint agency working groups and initiatives to protect U.S. weapons technology.
Mr. Foley was the FBI Regional Counterintelligence Working Group Coordinator for many years covering the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes Regions and also served as the FBI Louisville Strategic Partnership Coordinator. In these roles, he provided briefings and training to the private sector and academia in the areas of Counterintelligence, Cybersecurity, Insider Threat, and Intellectual Property Protection. He has extensive experience briefing high-level government officials and C-Suite executives, as well as collaboration with the U.S. Intelligence Community, state and local law enforcement.
From 2006 – 2010, Mr. Foley served as the FBI Liaison to the DOE Office of Security and Counterintelligence for three DOE laboratories in the Chicago area. In this role, he conducted briefings and debriefings of DOE scientists regarding foreign travel and foreign visits and assignments and investigated foreign targeting of sensitive commercial and dual-use technologies.
Mr. Foley has been the recipient of numerous awards, including six citations for special achievement, and the 2020 BG Richard T. Ellis Award for Excellence in HUMINT Collaboration.
Mr. Foley is now the Founder & CEO of Foley Security Associates LLC, which is comprised of former federal law enforcement and intelligence officials with decades of experience helping private sector companies, U.S. Government Agencies, and the U.S. Department of Defense protect critical assets and intellectual property.
